About Danielle Bedics-Arizala Photography

I grew up in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and spent my childhood with animals, riding horses and enjoying the beauty of Pennsylvania’s countryside, state parks and hiking trails.

I became interested in photography in 1997 and began taking photos with with a Nikon 35mm film camera.

Today I live in Pasadena, California with my husband, Octavio and my cat, Magic.  Even though I have worked extensively with artificial lighting, I greatly prefer natural light and the challenges and surprises it brings when shooting nature outdoors.

For several years I photographed pin-up style photography, but my love for nature outweighed my enjoyment of pin-up, and I now spend every moment I can photographing public gardens, flowers, trees, forests and the critters that inhabit these beautiful places.

I am very lucky to live near three very beautiful gardens; Descanso Gardens in La Canada Flintridge, the Huntington Library, Art Collections and Botanical Gardens in San Marino and the Los Angeles Arboretum and Botanic Garden in Arcadia, CA.  I also have a passion for gardening and a special interest in observing and photographing butterflies.

I am mostly active on Flickr and you can see my latest work here:
