It was another hot and humid weekend. I left early, trying to beat the potential storms predicted for the afternoon. The air felt heavy and thick, like walking through sticky molasses. The garden was mostly empty. I guess most people stayed home because of the weather forecast. But I was ready for the rain. When the sky opened up, I had my umbrella and kept walking. The downpour felt refreshing and made the garden look even more beautiful. People ran for cover in the café or under trees, but it wasn’t storming, just raining. I stuck my arm out from under the umbrella and let the raindrops collect on my skin. It felt nice. I’m glad I went today. The garden always has something to offer no matter when I go. I always come home feeling a bit more grounded, peaceful and connected to nature.
