New York Botanical Garden, April 4, 2026

It was a beautiful spring day, perfect for a visit to the New York Botanical Garden.  The cherry blossoms, daffodils, and magnolias were in full bloom, while native spring ephemerals like trout lily and trillium were just beginning to emerge in the Native Plant Garden and the Thain Family Forest.

I love the city, but it’s necessary to keep a balance between my urban surroundings and staying connected to nature and its seasonal rhythms.  The NYBG is an easy escape by train.  It’s a place to spend a few hours reconnecting and grounding.  And while the garden is beautiful year-round, there’s something especially magical about it in the spring.
