The sun was out, and anytime that happens, especially after the long, extra cold winter we’ve had, I feel the need to be outside as much as possible.  We took the train to the New York Botanical Garden this morning.  I really just needed to be in the sunshine and fresh air.

Some of the first flowers are beginning to arrive.  Snowdrops are blooming in the rock and azalea gardens, along with hellebore and crocus. It was windy which added a chill to the air, but I was just happy to be outdoors.

Even a simple walk along the wide gravel path through Thain Family Forest where I could smell the scent of leaves and earth was exactly what I needed to reset from the hectic work week an begin the weekend.
